The Beginning
Every Great Adventure Begins with a Story
Dirty Monkey Adventure wasn't created overnight, and it certainly wasn't built by just one person.
Our story began with three partners who shared the same passion for tourism, customer service, and the incredible landscapes of Puerto Vallarta.
Before Dirty Monkey Adventure existed, each of us worked in a different area of the tourism industry. One specialized in travel sales and guest relations, another spent years guiding visitors through the Sierra Madre mountains, and the third dedicated more than fifteen years to tourism photography, preserving unforgettable memories for travelers from around the world.
Although our careers were different, we all shared the same dream: creating experiences that people would remember for the rest of their lives.
How Dirty Monkey Adventure Was Born
The idea didn't begin as a tour company. At first, we were supporting other tourism businesses while reinvesting everything we earned into a small project of our own. With dedication, hard work, and patience, we were able to purchase our very first used Honda ATV. Soon after, we bought a second one, renting them to other operators for larger groups.
Without realizing it, we were slowly building the foundation of something much bigger. Everything changed when a family who already knew the quality of our service asked if we could guide them on a private ATV adventure ourselves.
We said yes.
That single tour changed our future forever.
The Name
Why "Dirty Monkey"?
People ask us this question all the time. The answer is simple.
Whether you visit during the dry season covered in dust or during the rainy season splashing through mud, everyone finishes the adventure looking like a "Dirty Monkey."
The name reflects exactly what our tours are about: having fun, embracing the adventure, and creating unforgettable memories without worrying about getting a little dirty along the way.
Our Approach
We Wanted to Create the Tour We Always Dreamed Of
After spending years working in tourism, we realized something important. Many ATV tours had become rushed experiences — large groups, very little personal attention, and guides focused on moving quickly from one stop to another. Visitors spent more time following the group than truly enjoying Puerto Vallarta.
We believed there was a better way.

The First Year
The First Year Was the Hardest
When we opened Dirty Monkey Adventure, our office was located beneath our own home. It was a small space, but our dreams were enormous. The three of us did everything ourselves:

Cleaning
Customer service
Some weeks we didn't have a single reservation. But every morning we opened our doors anyway. We prepared the vehicles, cleaned the equipment, answered every message, and promoted our tours — watching other companies pass by while we waited for our opportunity.
There were moments when giving up seemed easier. Instead, we chose to keep believing.
Little by little, guests began recommending us. Families returned. Reviews started growing. One unforgettable adventure at a time, Dirty Monkey Adventure became what it is today.

Dirty Monkey Adventure Opens
Dirty Monkey Adventure officially opened with only two Honda ATVs and a dream to create something different.

We purchased our first brand-new ATV directly from the dealership, a milestone that proved our hard work was beginning to pay off.
